We define “capacity” as having the resources (people, money, time, knowledge, etc.) to implement a plan. It’s something with which all organizations struggle. No matter what industry, sector, or amount of money at play, leaders consistently talk about building the capacity to do more. Not having the capacity to implement has and continues to have a profound impact on small organizations, particularly non-profit organizations. In fact, recent research by a number of major foundations concludes that the capacity constraints facing non-profit organizations will only increase over time.
Unfortunately, far too many leaders are unable to adequately deal with these capacity issues, and as a result, find themselves in a bubble…stretched thin, overwhelmed, with no time to develop strategy, employees, or the organization itself.
The Center for Symphonic Leadership™ is your answer. Read about our professional development solutions.

Want to know more? Read about Symphonic Learning Circles.
A Symphonic Learning Circle™ is based on the concept of a Community of Practice—diverse groups of people who share a common concern, challenge, or sense of purpose. For those who work in organizations with a social purpose, being an effective professional—fundraiser, program officer, evaluator, strategist, marketer—is simply a means to an end. We take our same training and development methods that help you develop professionally and apply them to the social outcomes you are working toward achieving.
From strong families to prosperous communities to social innovation and social enterprise, Symphonic Learning Circles™ are organized around common social roles—father, mother, spouse, supervisor, advisor, etc. We all wear multiple “hats” throughout the course of a day as we assume various social roles. Often, these roles require us to use such as a wide variety of skills and to rely on instincts that may seem on the surface to diverge. Life today is about mastering the necessity of moving quickly and gracefully from one social role to another, without diminishing your impact and effectiveness.
As a learning circle grows, your ability to learn new methods, to exchange ideas, and to network with peers outside of your traditional "social circle" also grows.
Our research team will offer blogs, articles, seminars, how-to guides, and promising profiles around the social roles that tie a community of practice together.
Participating in a Symphonic Learning Circle™ will expand your ability to achieve your mission.
