Strategic Planning and Strategic Plans
Description
A strategic plan is a formal document that describes how an organization intends to respond to significant changes in either the external or internal environment. Strategic plans are useful tools when significant changes and disruptions require a renewed effort, or in some cases, a new approach. As such, a strategic plan generally begins with an assessment of the changes in the external environment and maps directly to the organization’s capacity and capabilities to achieve its goals and objectives in that environment. Strategic plans are visionary documents and they outline the course of action in broad and compelling terms.
