SWOT Analysis

Description

A SWOT Analysis is a strategic planning method used to evaluate the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats associated with a program, initiative, or business venture. A SWOT includes an analysis of the external environment coupled with an assessment of an organization’s capacity and capability to respond in that environment.

Activities:

  • External Environmental Scan
  • Internal Assessment
  • Facilitated Workshop

 

Deliverables

At the end of the SWOT exercise, you will receive a concise report (usually no more than 5 pages) that describes your organization’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.

PESTEL Analysis

Description

A PESTEL Analysis is a step in a traditional strategic planning process designed to identify various issues (e.g., political, economic, social, technological, environmental, and legal) in the external environment that might influence an organization’s ability to implement its strategy.

  • Facilitated Workshop

Deliverables

At the end of the PESTEL exercise, you will receive a concise report (usually no more than 5 pages) that describes the political, economic, social, technological, environmental, and legal issues facing your organization.

Time to Complete: 2-4 weeks
