THE LEADER'S CHALLENGE
The head of a major public agency needed support documenting the needs of adult learners in her city. She had a hunch that there was a need to substantially increase the quality and quantity of services available to adult learners, but she needed evidence to support that hunch.

OUR SOLUTION
Our Research and Analysis Practice worked with the client to create a customized research study to understand how illiteracy impacts various segments within the adult education community. We ran focus groups in key areas of the city covering a number of critical segments—single mothers, ex-offenders, and Spanish-speaking adults. We not only completed the focus groups, but we also compiled our findings in a publication-ready report that our client was able to circulate to policy makers throughout the city.

THE LEADER’S CHALLENGE
A senior executive at a major national corporate foundation found herself with a disturbing funding challenge. The number of viable after school programs that met her foundation’s funding criteria were shrinking year by year. This left children in some of the most impoverished areas of her city without access to quality after school programs.

OUR SOLUTION
Staff from our Strategy and Innovation Practice worked with the client to design an initiative to identify successful after school programs that could be replicated or expanded into areas of the city without access to such services. The initiative required us to facilitate strategic planning sessions with a number of promising community-based after school programs. The strategic planning sessions were comprehensive and collaborative, and resulted in action plans designed to help each organization expand its programs and services into new areas of the city.

THE LEADER'S CHALLENGE
The chief executive at a major public, philanthropic organization wanted to maximize his organization’s investment in the community by strengthening the pipeline of up and coming leadership talent. Unfortunately, most of the existing leadership programs were piecemeal, focusing on skill sets in isolation. Our client wanted to create a holistic leadership development program.

OUR SOLUTION
We designed a customized leadership development program that blended classroom instruction with site visits, case studies, and individualized action learning. Our instuctional design team worked closely with the client to develop a holistic curriculum that focused on exposing leaders to the full array of skills necessary to lead in the New Economy.

THE LEADER'S CHALLENGE
The chief executive of a major organization had been working on a strategic initiative for several years. The initiative involved a number of complex, moving pieces. She was looking for a way to communicate the key themes in her message without overwhelming her audience.

OUR SOLUTION
Using some of the leading principles of analytic design, we were able to condense hundreds of pages of information, data, and research into a tight, concise, two-page graphic that conveyed the entirety of her message. Our design allows those individuals who play a lead role in the strategic initiative to explain it to a lay audience with ease.
