Literature Reviews
A literature review is an in-depth search, review, and analysis of the primary themes and key findings on a topic of interest. Our clients often use literature reviews to get “up to speed” on an important topic before a major decision, project, meeting, or presentation.

All literature reviews contain a table of contents, a concise summary of findings, and an annotated bibliography of sources used and consulted.

In-Depth Interviews

An in-depth interview is a form of qualitative research that involves a face-to-face, informal, unstructured conversation with a subject. In-depth interviews require interviewers with a high degree of skill. Our researchers have the interpersonal skills and the cultural competency to work with a wide variety of interview subjects—from senior executives to front line employees. We work with youth, low-income parents, and historically under-represented ethnic and racial minority groups.

All in-depth interviews are audio taped (when permission is granted) and clients receive a concise summary of findings along with an edited transcript.

Surveys

We are experienced with survey design and have developed a number of unique ways to elicit information from respondents that “meets them where they are.” Our surveys are designed from years of experience working with a wide variety of populations (e.g., executives, non-exempt employees, parents, students, etc.) and sectors (private and public). All of our pre-designed paper surveys can be easily converted to online versions. We can even host the survey for you on our servers, administer passwords, send out email reminders, and deliver the data right to your inbox.

All surveys are designed, formatted, and printed in-house. Customers receive a restricted license to use all Symphonic Strategies’ Surveys according to the terms of the license agreement.

Focus Groups
A focus group is a form of qualitative research designed to capture the perceptions and attitudes of a group of people about a product, service, concept, advertisement, idea, or brand. We are equipped to handle the entire process from concept to implementation.

That includes:

  • Design and development of the questions and agenda
  • Participant recruitment and selection
  • Participant stipends and release forms
  • Site selection and reservation
  • Food and refreshments
  • Translation (from English to Spanish)
  • Transcription

All focus group sessions are intentionally kept small to create the optimal conditions for the exchange of ideas and opinions. Clients receive a concise summary of findings, as well as edited transcripts from each focus group session.
